Why be scared of darkness?

If you are the light source, why be scared of darkness?
Darkness is a metaphor for the ignorance or unawareness and difficulties caused by the same.
Light is the metaphor for the knowledge/wisdom and awareness.
You have it all within you.
It’s just a matter of being connected to this light source and following mindfully where it guides us.
When you stop focusing on the darkness in the outer world, you will be able to spread the the light you have within you.
